The Kylemore Abbey & Garden is the Monastic home of the Benedictine Order of Nuns in Ireland. The Abbey itself is over 1500 years old. The community takes pride in preserving and restoring the estate, comprising a fine house, (built originally as a Castle in 1868, now an Abbey since 1921), a miniature Gothic Cathedral and a six-acre Victorian Walled Garden.
A visit to Ireland, and especially to the West of Ireland and Connemara is not complete without experiencing the beauty and tranquility that is Kylemore Abbey & Garden.
